Pare retired as President and CEO of the Minnesota Health Action Group in August of 2019, after twenty years working for the nonprofit employer-led health care coalition. In her work for the Action Group she continuously pushed for collaboration between health care providers, health plans, legislators, and health care quality organizations to improve cost and quality for employer purchasers and patients across the state of Minnesota.  

Prior to joining The Action Group, Pare was director of human resources for Dayton Hudson/Target, where she was responsible for benefits, risk management, and human resource information systems. 

In addition to her leadership with The Action Group, Pare serves on the Board of Directors for the National Quality Forum and its Executive Committee. She also is the past Chair of the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions, and served on the National Committee for Quality Assurance Standards Committee for eight years. 

She holds a B.S. in Environmental and Public Health from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire.
