Dolores Mitchell
Ms. Mitchell is the former Executive Director of the Group Insurance Commission (GIC), which she led for 29 years. At GIC she managed health and other benefits for more than 430,000 Massachusetts public employees, retirees, and their families, spending more than $2 billion a year. As Executive Director she served in the administrations of Governors Dukakis, Weld, Cellucci, Swift, Romney, and Patrick.
Mrs. Mitchell is a member of a number of professional and community organizations, including the governing board of the Massachusetts Health Care Connector Authority, the Health Care Quality and Cost Council, the Massachusetts Health Council. She is Board president of the National Committee for Quality Assurance, a board member of the Greater Boston Big Sister Association and on the Executive Committee of the Consumer/Purchaser Disclosure Project. She is a founding member of Catalyst for Health Payment Reform and was recently elected a member of the Board of Directors of the National Quality Forum.
