Donald E. Metz
Donald E. Metz has been with Health Affairs since 1993, and has been the journal’s executive editor since April 2001. He manages the journal’s editorial staff and oversees the day-to-day editorial operations of the journal.
He served on Project HOPE’s institutional review board from 2001 to 2003 and became a member of the National Advisory Committee of the California Health Benefits Review Program in 2012. He has over thirty years of experience working in the public policy sphere in various capacities.
Mr. Metz holds an M.S. degree (with honors) in applied mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. degree in finance from The Catholic University of America. He has also matriculated in graduate programs in statistics, philosophy, and public policy at various institutions.
Mr. Metz was selected as a fellow for the 2002 Jack R. Howard Science Reporting Institute at Caltech and is a member of AcademyHealth, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Statistical Association.
