Riti Shimkhada, PhD
Dr. Shimkhada is a senior research scientist at UCLA’s Center for Health Policy Research where she is involved in study design, analysis planning, and scientific writing for studies on topics such as health and social disparities, immigrant and global health, and state-level health policies. She is also a cost team lead analyst at CHBRP.
Dr. Shimkhada’s research primarily focuses on disaggregated race and ethnicity data, policy actions, physical and social environments, and population health outcomes. She conducts mixed-method studies that include legislative scans for health topics such as breast cancer and social determinants of health, and she has also led the analysis of social media data in various settings. Additionally, her peer-reviewed publications have been featured in the areas of health policy, international and environmental health, and social epidemiology.
Dr. Shimkhada received her PhD in Epidemiology from UCLA with an emphasis on health services research.
