Sara McMenamin, PhD

Dr. McMenamin is an assistant professor in the Division of Health Policy in the UC San Diego Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health (HWSPH) and Human Longevity Science.She currently serves as the Associate Director for the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at HWSPH. Dr. McMenamin’s research focuses on health insurance coverage for tobacco cessation treatments in both the private and public insurance markets. Her research also assesses the impact of the Affordable Care Act on tobacco dependence treatments in Medicaid programs at both the state and Medicaid managed care plan levels. Additionally, she serves as Vice Chair of CHBRP’s medical effectiveness and public health teams.

Dr. McMenamin received her PhD in Health Services and Policy Analysis from UC Berkeley as well as her MPH in Health Policy and Management from UC Berkeley.
